Welcome to the Download section with its two sections:

These sections contains a variety of links to enable you to download documents either in their original Word form or in compressed (Zip) files or Acrobat portable Document Format. This makes it easier for you to access information that you may wish to collect from the chelverton.com web site.

Note 1: If you have applications such as Microsoft Word or Excel or the Adobe Acrobat reader installed on your computer, you will be able to Open and view the files directly within your Internet Browser.

Note 2: If you are using a mouse with two buttons, click on Open with the secondary button (normally the right button, (but you may have changed it, for example, if you are left-handed), and select Save Target As… You will then be able to save the file rather than opening it, to a location of your choice on your hard disk.

Note 3: You can choose to Download a compressed Zip file containing the file(s). If you do not have WinZip you will not be able to ‘unzip’ or extract the files contained in the Zip file.

Clicking on Download opens a dialogue: this asks you if you want to Save it to your hard disk or Open it directly.

  1. Choosing to Open it directly it will display the name of the Word document contained in the Zip file. Double click on the name of the Word file to open and read it within your browser (this assumes you have Microsoft Word 97 or later on your computer as well).
  2. Choosing to Save it to your hard disk enables you to use the normal Windows view of folders on your hard disk to navigate to where you want to store the Zip file. You can then open the Zip file using the WinZip Help system.
